Drizzle Brownies

Drizzle Brownies

My friend Marie over at the English Kitchen Blog is known for her incredible brownies.  If you check out her recipes you will find some of the best-looking brownies on the Internet.  I saw her Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownies the other day and decided to give them a try and OH I AM SO GLAD I DID!  My brownie recipe is slightly different and produces a moist cake-like brownie because I baked them a little longer.  brownies, depending on how long you cook them for.  They are beautiful too!  I call them my Drizzle Brownies.

Drizzle Brownies

1 cup butter

1 cup all-purpose flour

4 ounces good quality bitter chocolate

4 large eggs

2 cups sugar

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Pinch salt

¼ cup white chocolate chips

¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate CHUNKS

¼ cup peanut butter chips

Glaze

2 Tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

2 Tablespoons white chocolate chips, melted

2 Tablespoons peanut butter chips, melted

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the bottom of a 9-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. Then cut a piece of parchment paper to fit the pan leaving the sides long so to use as a handle to lift the brownies out of the pan.

Melt the butter along with the chocolate over low heat in a large saucepan. Allow to cool, then stir in the sugar, eggs (one at a time) vanilla, flour and salt, mixing with a wooden spoon about 50 strokes! Fold in all of the chocolate chips.

Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for about 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out a clean.

For the glaze you will need to melt each one of the chocolate chips one at a time in the microwave at medium low setting until just beginning to melt. Then stir until they are completely melted.

Using a fork, flick each one of the melted chocolates over the top of the brownies.

Place them in the refrigerator to cool completely before cutting into squares to serve.

Christmas Brownies

These easy to make Christmas brownies are the edible gift that keeps on giving. Not only are they festive for your holiday party, they are the perfect chewy brownie. Decorate however you want, I just used some sprinkles and some piped icing. Be prepared to make multiple batches of this treat.

Christmas Brownies

Brownies:

1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 cups all purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugars, eggs, vanilla, and salt until well blended. In a small saucepan over medium low heat, begin melting the butter. When the butter is half melted, reduce the heat to low and add the chocolate, stirring until the chocolate is mostly melted.

Remove from heat and keep stirring until smooth. Whisking constantly, slowly add the chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture, mixing until well incorporated. Fold in the flour.

Grease and line a 9 x 9 inch square pan with parchment paper. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake about 23 minutes, until the middle is just slightly underdone. Place on a wire rack to cool.

White Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels

This is the easiest treat you can make for your neighbors and friends during the holidays but OMG so good.  Who would think about making a sweet treat out of that giant jar of Costco peanut butter pretzels? Who would know that that creamy peanut butter center would make them so addicting?  I love the taste of sweet and salty and I knew this would be perfect.

White Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels

Break up almond bark in pieces and place in a glass bowl that will fit a saucepan. Add just enough water that will not touch the bottom of  the bowl. Set heat to medium so that water is at a slow simmer.

Stir occasionally until melted.  Keep the water simmering slowly as you melt the bark. Continue to stir until smooth.

Dip the pretzels into the chocolate with a fork, and gently tap the side of the bowl so excess drips back down. Immediately place on parchment paper.  If you want to add sprinkles, now is the time to add them.

Allow pretzels to set for at least an hour.

 NOTES:

Avoid reheating time and time again. Instead, only cook a small amount, dip and then melt more.

Look for vanilla or white chocolate almond bark or white chocolate melting wafers. Both of these products are made for melting and dipping which is what you’re looking to do.  White chocolate chips burn too easily for this recipe.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
